<Also I made up a mixture of food for the fish to freeze on the weekend,
<however I couldn't get liver so I substituted kidney. Are they much the
<same type of food or would liver be superior. And the recipe also asked

<from a Chemist. Is that right?
To my opinion Calcium ascorbate, a combination of Calcium and Ascorbine
acid (vitamine C) should not be a major compound of the food as the fish
may not be possible to use it metabolically (?). It should be better to add
real vitamines as used in the veterinary medicine although a few of them
may be produced by the fish themselves (although partially unsufficient
under aquarium conditions).
