Hello Conway,

There are interesting places all along the East coast from Adelaide to
Darwin, then there is the west coast from Darwin to Adelaide. The good
part is that not everything has been found yet. My favourite collecting
places are where salt meets fresh or in freshwater but still under tidal
influence but collecting inland is also enjoyable. Adrian Tappin
edits and does many of the Articles for In Stream. He has been responsible
for that high quality journal for many years. ANGFA is a great place to
meet many wonderful people that work with many different aspects of our
native fishes. There should be some email addresses and phone numbers
available on the in stream. The URL9s for ANGFA Qld
http://www.angfaqld.org.au and if you look there you will see there is a
combined ANGFA NSW and ANGFA Qld field trip scheduled for November.
There are also contact names and phone numbers on the ANGFA National web
site.

When you do collect some fish keep notes and record the details. Others
who enjoy fishwatching have recorded details of survey trips on the ANGFA
database. http://db.angfa.org.au There is a guide, a survey form in
the documentation section of the database, it is a guide to the sort of
things you can note about a location and you may even get some ideas where
to start looking.

Cheers
Dave
