I had a pair (male and female) of tri's years ago. They were probably my
favourite fish at the time. I got the both of them at the same time. 3 or
so years later I found that they were both dead, died over night. Yet
nothing else suffered. Both the deceased looked to be in excellent shape.
All the water parameters were essentially the same as I had always
maintained. Go figure?
