When I was recently in Canada my friend Charles Hendry ( yes Adrian, he of
the white sh- t fame) and he took me electrofishing around Cochrane and the
smaller fish recovered quite quickly. he maintains mostly large muscular
fish tend to get the injuries. However they recommend a team of 3 - one
shocking and 2 collecting. Safety gear and training in CPR is a mandatory
pre-requisite for using the gear. They had a nice unit that was battery
powered and didn't require a noisy smelly polluting generator. many of the
fish we collected were under 2 inches in length.
