Hi everyone,
Let me go through what happened with the Amquel. I started doing a
water change on my 75gal plant tank, drained it down just like normal.
I went to the front door where I had left a brand new bottle of Amquel
(16 fl oz) I was on my way back to the tank when I opened the bottle
and a little splashed out and I got shocked hard enough that the cap was
thrown across the room. I was in the middle of my living room, on
carpet holding nothing but the amquel. There was no metal, or electric
cords, or water anywhere near (10'). There is a powerline that runs
parrallel to the house to the south (25-30', just supplies a street
light with power). However, I have a small saltwater tank on the south
wall and have never gotten any current out of it, so I realy doubt that
the powerline had anything to do with it. I was shocked a total of four
times, each less in intensity than the time before and and a few minutes
between the first and second and a couple of hours between the second
and the last two (I needed to finish the water change). I realy think
the solution was charged before I got a hold of it and was basicly a
capasitor.
None of this is within my field of expertice, I hope this helps to clear
this up.
