I successful hatch brine shrimp as fry food all the time.
I use 20 grams of salt, any kind, per liter of de-clor water.
After 24 hours or so newly shelled shrimp are swimming in the solution.
I then shine a light beam where they gather, then vacuum them out
with a turkey baster, paper coffee filter them, and float the paper
on the fry tank. I have heard that the "nauply" can be feed a pinch
of brewer's yeast and grown, but I have never succeeded in doing this.
The water get cloddy and they die off. Nauply are so small that
filtering the water is difficult. I have bought different brands of eggs
and they seem to yield about the same amount. Only a fraction of the eggs
hatch.
