No Michael,
Just make sure your canister is seeded and working before shutting down
your UGF. My understanding is that we want the gravel to become anaerobic
to make the iron from the laterite into a more available form.Just watch
your nitrogen levels (ammonia, nitrite and nitrate) for a while and keep
the water changes up.
