We took Roy down south to the Border Ranges yesterday. It was fantastic
weather the humidity was LOW at 48% (low for Qld but high for the boy from
Aspen). A few cumulus type clouds dotted throughout the sky and fantastic
scenery. The Roy boy didn't even have to get his feet wet, we just fished
the easy way with bait traps, unfortunately the fish weren't that
interested in getting caught.
Roy did get 3 small doubalayi, he thinks they're all female but I recon his
luck may have held 'cause one looked a bit male to me. Bruce will be able
to tell straight away. The boy also got some interesting hardyhead with a
nice gold stripe through the lateral area. I got a 12in eel but I maintain
that he ate all the rainbows that I would have had in my net.
It was a great day, shame that some of you couldn't make it, but there is
always next year.
Barry.
