A further project may also be going ahead with the nightfish. It will be on
the reproductive habits of this species. The project will be linked to a
grant to rehabilitate an acid affected area south of perth called Collie.
Coal mining has had a disasterous effect on the pH of the surrounding waters
in this area and it just happens that one of the people who are organising
this grant has an interest in nightfish, which are still found in the acid
affected waters.
