<<Harro-thaks so much for taking the time once again to explain things. As I was
telling Peter Unmack I don't feel it is necessary for me to understand genetics
in depth in order for me to recognize it's importance. As for being willing to
particpate in conservation-YES! If there is a program and a COMPETENT "
DIRECTOR", I'd be quite willing to be involved.<<
As I don't think there are any problems with M. eachamensis in captivity
(there must be tens of thousands), the first species we should all together
look for might be M. oktediensis (or any other one, waiting for proposals!).
As a first step all keepers and most of all breeders of rainbowfish who do
want to become involved into the Species Maintenance Program (SMP) under
the strict rules I outlined already on this list should at least tell me that
he (or she!) is willing to participate (sorry Chris, we need more ;-) contributors).
If there are enough contributors, we'll do the rest.
So please everybody interested come out now. But it will cost you some money
and time.
