I. werneri breed themselves in ponds in my back yard and the water
temperature is usually about 28 to 30 deg C for most of the year. When we
have really cold weather and the temp drops to about 22 deg C in the ponds
they stop producing fry. I am sure the temperatures in the places where
they are found rarely get down to 20 Deg C, perhaps someone who has
collected them in Qld will be able to give you a better idea.
