Did some quicky conversions 12-16 C is about 54-61 F. I have sent M.
bosmani and P. furcatus to my mother in law and it get to be 39 F or 4 C in
the house over winter. The fish seem OK and are in unheated tanks (they
haven't grown as fast, but...) My signifers (Ross River) are outside and it
gets down to 18 C over winter and they seem to be OK. I suspect that the
population from further south will manage the lower temp better. Can you
believe my P. cyanodorsalis P. furcatus, P connieae, P. tennelus is outside
also without heating.
I think what is more important is to look at the daily temperature range
rather than max min. I suspect that in my case that the temp dips down
this low, but gets back up eventually durning the course of the day (I
don't know about my mother in law, but there have been times that I didn't
want to get out of bed).
