I buy what ever is on sale and uses the old-fashion tar type of ballast.
All of the brands are very similar, even though prices can be quite
different. If you get into the industrial grade shop lights, you will pay
for a heavy-duty ballast and fixture, but pay 3 -4 times the cost of the
cheap ones. At that cost I'll replace a cheap one, which happens only
rarely, instead of paying the extra dollars up front. The only ones I have
seen in the stores with the electronic type is the Lights of America brand.
