Roy saw the styrofoam backdrops we do here and is trying to find a local
version of the paintable bitumen we use to coat them and stick the sand and
peat on with. One of the local brands here is "Ormonoid" but there are
several others. It is used as a non-toxic sealant for drinking water
containers as well as a sealant for brickwork that is going to be buried
e.g. foundations. It seems strange that the home of the "world's greatest
everythings" ;-) should not have an equivalent especially since they have
such a huge petrochemical industry and bitumen is a by-product of
refineries.
