Glad that you got some pygmaes, the truly dwarf rainbowfish. Keep 'em going this time as there aren't many of them around in the US. My boesemani were around 5 inches but I was raising fish in tanks no larger than 29 gallons. I'm sure they would have gotten bigger in a larger tank. I have seen boesemani pushing 7 inches at one of the zoos. Really looked ugly though as they had really overfed their fish. When rainbows get really "tall" and big I think they lose a lot of their streamline appearance and appeal for me. Also wasn't very colorful at that size.

I last talked to him about 10 years ago. BUT, someone was kind enough to
share some M. pygmaea with me last week that originated with Roy...so in
that respect he's still around...sort of.
