Dear FishFolk,
I had a terrible time my first experience with bolbititis. I have a lot of
low light killifish tanks and wanted it for them. They are also hardwater
with salt added. Very dead plant.
I read that it really didn't do well unless it was low pH and soft water. I
now have it growing and spreading in a low pH, low hardness 10 gallon tank.
It is 4.5 - 5.0 pH and 1 - 3 DH. It's on my desk at work where I have access
to DI water. I also have java fern and anubias nana growing in the same
tank. Not a fast grower by any means but there are 4 -5 new fern fronds
unspooling. It was pricey but I am probably going to get some for my
permanent clown killifish (Pseudepiplatys annulatus) tank.
Best wishes,
Earl
