Hi Danny,

I have had success with Pseudomugil mellis in a bath tub out side in full sun. I put about 50mm of potting mix in the bottom then 20mm of dirt then a layer of sand and then fine gravel. Fillwith water then plant plenty of fine leaf plants and let them get established. I gave my tub 3 months to get going then added the fish. that was towards the end of last year. Now there is heaps of fry. I saw the first of them around the end of August. There were a few fry last summer also but not as many as lhis summer. I give them baby brine shrimp two or three times a week. I hope this helps. I am setting up another tub for Iratherina werneri I don't know how they will go.I live up the road from your work so I will drop in one day and you can pick my brain for more detail if you like.

Hi all, I am reasonably successful most of the time at getting my rainbows to spawn but the following species I am finding frustrating. Are there any particular tricks to consider for these species that might just push things along (flowers, a quite cuddle beforehand, preferences of mops vs fontinalis, mop lengths, anything else).

G. wanamensis (I have no dramas with multisquamatus/maculosus/incisus/ramuensis under the same conditions)
Iratherina werneri
Pseudomugil mellis and furcatus

Any help would be appreciated
