I havent used Carbon with my tanks for years planted or not,
and Rainbows Australian ones at least, are one of the hardiest fish in the
trade
taking alot of abuse which is one reason why they survuve in are harsh
outback
but if you feel you need to use Carbon it would be better to use Ammagon or
simular
product as you get more value for money as Carbon has an average life in the
water of 7 days
