Mine are at 1.010 so yours should be fine. I use sea salt mix. Mine are
in a half full 30g. extra tall tank. I just checked the temp and its 76.
The tank used to have just plastic plants an airstone and yarn mops in
it, and they were producing just fine with that. I finally found some
Crypt ciliata for it and have a little mangrove seedling started. I have
one C. ciliata and the mangrove in a tall hex tank, filled to the top
with gravel that I put in the corner of the big tank, since the big tank
is only half full the little tank is about 2 inches below the water
surface. There are more C ciliata in the bottom and some java moss
that's kind of hanging in there. I tried jungle val and it totally
melted away.
I used to pull the mops, then noticed fry showing up in the tank, so
stopped pulling. When I planted the tank I threw the mops in a little 10
gallon and have a batch of fry in there also. I have noticed that since
I planted it, and no longer have plastic plants and mops floating at the
top, that I don't seem to have young fry anymore either. Hopefully the
emergent ciliata and the roots I'm hoping my mangrove will produce will
give more shelter at the top. The fish seem to produce more when they're
getting live foods.
Hope this helps.
