I hate to point out the obvious, but have you ever looked in your own local
creeks Scott? They are probably full of rather potentially interesting and
colourful shiners and darters etc etc. Australia is not unique, every
continent has a preference for non-native ornamental fishes with the natives
being somewhat ignored.
