Doug,
what population of signifer? I have some breeding, but the population I
work with "Ross River" prefers fairly saline brackish water to show their
best color (which isn't all that much, by comparison). It is also one of
the larger fish with very long fins. Also tends to have a nasty disposition
towards other males. Of late I have been looking for a pair or so of fish
from a southern Australia population. They tend to be smaller, shorter fins
and more cold tolerant (mine do fine without a heater, but never show color
or spawn as frequently....)
