Normal setup is to clean out the tub, fill with fresh pond water and let sit
for a week or so. Ponds are UV stabilised plastic and are kept bare bottom.
Introduce the mops, occassionally a snail or two will get in with the mops,
for rainbows it hasn't been a problem but with slower hatching periods
(blue-eyes) it may be.
When the fry are free swimming introduce some larger pond snails.
