[RML] Tank Sterilising

Hello all,

Having just fought a battle with 'white spot' in
two of my tanks, the disease and I remain at
an uneasy truce........

I have quarantined the affected fish "Davies ck" splendidas
and some locally caught M.dubolayai. After a program
of culling, treatment with Malachite green and frequent water changes,
seem to have stabilised the problem for the time being.

My thoughts now are that I will tear down the two affected tanks
and start again.

However, what are peoples thoughts on the best way to sterilise
the tanks after an outbreak of white spot.
Both are bare tanks with "BioMax" filters, which are essentially
sponge filters.

Is treatment of the tank and filters with very hot water sufficient?
Otherwise, what is a better routine?

What have people experienced with recurrence of white spot
in affected fish?

Thanks
Jeff Gunston
