It was very upsetting to hear about the Evans River kills stretching for 12
kilometres, as we were just up there the weekend before this happened. We
surveyed one of the creeks feeding in to the Evans River on the Saturday
afternoon and evening, and found many fish, including one of the most
beautiful signifers I have seen- gorgeous blood red fins. (I took some
photos in a field tank, the slides are now in being developed. And yes
Bruce- I've filled in a survey form for ANGFA ;-)) On the Sunday morning we
spent an hour on the breakwall at the entrance to the Evans River for a
lovely feed of whiting and bream- lucky the trip wasn't put off or we
wouldn't have been eating that crumbed fresh fish on Sunday evening.
