Actually cories are induced to spawn by the spring melt ie cold water caused
by melting snow. Which is probably why they are active. There is a guy over
here in the states who breeds cories by lowering their water lavel and then
dumping in ice. After the first few times they just spawn without the ice. For
what it's worth there ya go. Joe
