I think we have to be a little careful using aquaculture practices with
aquarium fish. Aquaculturists just want to grow their fish as quick as
possible to the largest size they can.
I would like to feed them some freshwater live foods such as Moina or such
if only I could culture them. Quite the opposite from Artemia, adults of
these species normally have a higher nutritional content (omega-3 fatty
acids) than their juveniles do. Some species have been reported to have
protein contents exceeding 70%. Plus they also get a little bit more
'roughage' in their diet.
There is also suppose to be a freshwater fairy shrimp that can be cultured
but I don't know what their proper name is and haven't heard of anyone that
cultured them.
