I appreciate the concern. I have a degree in microbiology with other
undergraduate credit in biology/environmental science. I'm also a cop so I'm
not just going to go around releasing creatures into an alien environ. I'm
just trying to find a couple of crayfish for my bedroom aquarium. I'll
probably end up buying one of the australian blues but I'd rather just get a
native or at least US species because that's the nature of the tank. My son
has wanted to get another one since the one we had died of old age (I think)
at 7 years. We both think they're cool, the way the eat, move, hide
,molt, etc. I've been fighting cancer for the last 3 years so it's hard for
me to spend a lot of time right now shopping or going out camping where I
might find a crayfish. It's being able to do little things like this that I
miss and unfortunately took for granted. If anybody in the bay area or SF
sees any in the pet store please post or email me.
