my local pet shop had a book called something like "cold-blooded
Australians" most of it having to do with freshwater fish, I didn't pick
it up then but skipping through it, it had some fasinating pictures. I'll
remember always the sequence of shots showing how a baramundi ambashes and swallows a fish nearly its own size. I think tomorow I'll get the book
The book Cyrus is referring to here is "The Cold-Blooded Australians" by Gunther Schmida. Published by Doubleday Australia in 1985 I believe it is now out of print and getting harder to come by. It is an excellent book describing in detail the ecology a
nd animals (cold blooded) peculiar to various regions of Australia. Of course it is full of Gunthers superb photographs.
