Hey Roy when you are thinking about "cooler" Rainbows don't forget "the Jewel of Sahul" our recently discussed subject - Rhadinocentrus ornatus and it's northern cousin Cairnsicthys rhombosomoides. Both tend to be found in the cooler areas of their habita

t and can easily be kept outside all year round here in Brisbane.

Then there are the melanotaenias - fluviatilis, duboulayi, tatei, mccullochii( red-finned form only) and perhaps some forms of splendidas e.g. the southernmost forms from around Gladstone as well as Harvey's Creek and Davies Creek.

Blue-eyes are probably limited to Honeys and some forms of signifers( probably most of them except the more northern ones( however Harvey's Creeks are OK outside).

I will be interested to hear some other views on this.
