<< For how many
Oz fish do you think hardness is important when it comes to spawning the
them? pH is a little more important although I generally recommend 7-7.5
for _most_ species. I can just imagine people with hard water going to all
this effort to soften their water when it is a waste of time.>>

I think most people attempting breeding tend to look at guidelines and say to themselves well I'll try with the water I've got and they are thriving in and give them some extra water changes and see what happens before going to a lot of trouble with har

dness etc. The trouble with an A-Z type of publication is trying to settle on a consensus when there are widely divergent expressed opinions amongst the small amount of literature on the keeping and breeding available in the various sources.

Since I know how difficult (and expensive in some cases) it was for me to assemble my collection of resources I was hoping to share as much of the information as possible with other members in an easily accessed format.Obviously I will be taken to task r

egularly for not including or excluding various items but I can only appeal for those comments to be sent to me in writing for consideration when each sheet is reviewed ( a big plus for the loose-leaf format)

<< My only other suggestion would be
to put out a page on general keeping of Australian fish. Alex Caughey
did one some time back, I've done something similiar which I can send you
(we could probably have lots of fun disagreeing on that one probably!) :-)
You could just make up a conglomerate article. >>

I would be happy to have a copy of yours to consider (with alex's and mine and anybody elses') for such a conglomerate article.
