[RML] my friend's tank...(mystery and/or misery?)

You may recall my friend with the P. signifer male that wasted away,
and my query to the group to see whether anyone knew and/or could help
me help him with identifying what the cause(s) and cure(s)/corrective
course of action(s) could be... (again thank you for your help)

Today he called me and told me has has found some kind of narrow but
long red worms that appear to be mating (rubbing up against each
other) (I think in the plant leaves???) near the top in his tank. I
am sorry, but that is all the detail I have since I was trying to get
out of the house and off to work when he called.

1) Anyone know what these could be?
2) What more information do I need to get from him so you can
diagnose/help?
3) Could they be healthful or harmful to his tank/fish? Should he be
so concerned? He called me because he is concerned that they or their
fry/eggs could be bad for his fish.

On a lark I asked him if he thought they were bloodworms. He does not
think so. He also says he has never fed his tank live bloodworms,
only frozen ones.

TIA,
