I've heard of methylene blue being blamed for birth defects in fish,
mutagenic or teratogenic or whatever the term is.
For that reason I've not used it in holding eggs in an unfungussed state
- basically, I've relied on water quality and a little salt to do that.
I'm not sure it stimulates spawning per se. Where did you hear that?
