You are right, and I have it already (E.H Auty 1978, Aust J Mar and
Freshwater Res, 29 585-97) . And I quote:

".....protracted breeding season.... female is capable of spawning
repeatedly.....and may produce at least 40 000 eggs per season."

But they did not raise the larvae past day 10.
