Sorry, it was a silly question....that you asked me before BTW :-)
Sexual maturity depends on environmental conditions. How well the fish was
fed, how fast it grew, water temp during growth, etc. If the fish are not
properly cared for they will reach maturity later than fish that were. If
the females look fat and the males are showing that is probably your BEST
CLUE that they are indeed ready to spawn.
