If you have the tank leak tested before purchase then I don't think you can
expect a 3 year guarantee for the future on a second-hand tank.
my experience with ferrets is limited to going "rabbiting" with them in
South Australia when I was a kid and having to help dig up hundreds of
yards of rabbit warren to retrieve the ferret after it killed a rabbit down
the burrow and went to sleep. And of course a series of ferret bites on
unwary fingers because they look "so cute and harmless"
Maybe the extra Potassium from the softener will be good for your plants
and the extra plant growth will make your fish feel secure and calm your
fish down instead of inducing cardiac arhythmias and muscle cramps etc ;-)
