Thanks Paul

BTW what types of rainbowfish do you keep? It is always
interesting to see
what is available elsewhere. I get the impression that PNG
species may be
easier to get tha here but Australian species may be more
difficult for you
to get

At the moment I only have M. boesmani and M. tri. Goyder River,
and I used to have some Peacock Gobies, until a minor disaster wiped
them out. I hope to acquire more rainbows in the next few months
(probably M. praecox and other), but I am a bit limited for space at the
moment, as I must admit that I also keep killies. But the rainbows make
a much better display in my community tank.

The number of people keeping rainbows is increasing rapidly in
the UK, and this is resulting in more species being imported from abroad
(mainly Holland and Germany).

Any suggestions, for catching a trio of the M. tri Goyder River
from my 5ft community tank without distressing them too much, as I would
like to put them into a breeding tank. I have tried to catch them with a
large net a couple of times, but they always hide away in the plants.
After the past comments on this list concerning how this species can be
easily stressed, I would rather leave them where they are than loose
them.
