Doesn't make sense seeing where their opperation is (in the middle of a
lava field, just adjacent to the ocean). I was assuming they were using
the nutrient rich seawater that is produced via the OTEC project. I have
never visited the site (cyanotech that is, I have been to the beach near
by). Intresting that they (the various companys) are raising strawberrys,
abalone, salmon, lobster, peruvian lilys, etc, all of which are cool
climate organisms in middle of a blistering hot (Imagine a nice black rock
surface to collect tons of heat) dry, inhospitable area.
More so with the volcanoe going most of the rainwater is acid rain,
especially on the kona side of the island....
