[RML]Unusual spawning site

I was just peeking in at the fish this morning had 2 bits of good news, one my
rainbow goodieds finally have fry (Ok so no one here really cares but I've been
waiting for months) :)

The other, my M. pulchra spawned again but this time on a Anubias leaf. There
is a pvc pipe in the tank wich is where they have spawned all the prevous
times. Isn't this rather unusual. The leaf is just sticking out in about mid
water on one side of the tank, there is nothing even resembleing cover on the
top.
