I for one have had about enough of it... I've had a really bad week and if I
projected that on the list then there wouldn't be many of you left, but I'm

I think that this is more the sort of thing that Alan and I had in mind when
we started the list, Roy.... I'd propose that this be done on a regional
basis, as owing to regulatory and other factors what is rare here may be
rare in the USA, and vice versa, not to mention the differing situation in
other parts of the world that should not be discounted, especially Europe.
I feel that any program hinges on knowing what to work with (I know that
there are wildly differing opinions as to the characteristics, desirable and
otherwise, of a group of fish gathered for a breeding program, Mr Unmack may
wish to re-illustrate this point for the newer subscribers of the list) -
and one factor in this is IMHO the relative scarcity of the fish in
captivity. Regardless of the weight that one places on this factor, I think
that it is a real one.
All it takes is a bit of cooperation and a lot of hard work.... I'm in
favour of it myself.
