Years ago a German aquarist here in Brisbane named Martin Theil used to
add drops of Vit D3 and E to his food for problem fish like Neons and
Cardinals. Although of course they have the problem of the eggs being light
sensitive and once laid the eggs need to be covered until hatched.

I wonder if the eggs (or adults) need exposure to sunlight. Maybe for
vitamin sysnthesis?? I don't know anything about these physiological
aspects. Anybody have any ideas.
I suppose we persist with our breeding populations (until we eventually
develop a strain suitable for captivity) :-(
