A quick clarification of a few points. I don't disagree that some groups
like Hypsos are sympatric, I was only mentioning some that are not.

In the post before the last post on the subject I mentioned that there
are two very distinct lines of Craterocephalus evolution, the
stercusmuscarum group and the eyresii group. These can be thought of as
different genera for the purposes of my discussion. Ivantsoff and
Crowley didn't split them, but said that technically could be as they are
very distinctive old seperate lineages. The stercusmuscarum group
consists of (within Australia) C.s. stercusmuscarum, C.s. fulvus, C.
gloveri, C. dalhousiensis, and C.lentigenosus. Everything else in Oz is
in the eyresii group.

I am primarily only talking freshwater, but your point is noted.

As I had noted in my post these are all in drainages close to NG.

These are different genera, thus different lineages and therefore are not
