I think almost all of the DG's available in the hobby are the result of
successive sibling matings and the only obvious changes I can detect from
the F1 stock I have seen occasionally is a slight loss of colour intensity
in the males - and that is a very subjective observation.

Hi all,

I have a question for all the fish breeders and goby fans out there :

last year I bought a desert goby pair and they started breeding as
soon as I got them home. They produced about 5 batches of fry.
The parents are now both deceased and I have about 15 or so offspring
left. They seem still too small to sell being between 3 and 4 cm.
Unbeknown to me they have started breeding ! Not that they need my
permission mind you.

1/ When do DGs reach sexual maturity, these are between 4 and 5 months

old ?

2/ Is it undesirable to let siblings breed. ?

3/ (if no to Q2) Should I let the fry get eaten by not removing them
from the tank ?

Answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated.
