Kevin, you need to get out more :-)
gertrudae have been here since at least 1985. Got em at Wet Thumb aquatics. They are routinely offered for sale on Aquabid.
The ladgesi have been here for even longer. They are sort of considered a bread and butter, like the "australian rainbowfish" that is always offered up. There are some good pet stores in the Chicago area. Might be worth your while to go check them out. Also there are some even better petshops in the Milwaukee area, just a short drive away.
uhm, they're not in Allen's book as Allen's book covered OZ & NG.

Hi everyone,
To my surprise, a couple of LFS in the Chicago area have recently been
offering two rainbows that I didn't think were in the hobby here in the
US -- or at least weren't common enough to be in two stores at once!
Celebes Rainbows - Marosatherina ladigesi
(although they are not in Allen's book)
and P. gertrudae
The stores in question:
Old Orchard Aquarium in Skokie ($3 gertrude, $6.50 ladigesi)
Rainbow Pets in Schaumburg (~$3 gertrude, $4.00 ladigesi)
For anyone in the Chicago area, enjoy!
