Hi Julie,

thanks :)

There are two types of people who need to decide what is appropriate for
the list:
- individual members, who need to decide whether they stay or not, and
- moderaptors, who need to decide who stays if it comes to a dispute.

As the sole moderaptor, I believe that whatever Julie says is good
enough for me, as she has many long years of service to the list, and I
am not just saying that because she takes a good photo :)

Personally, I would rather see a vigorous discussion on something
vaguely off-topic than see the list canned for being idle. Individual
members must decide whether they like this or not - I am not your
mother, I don't mind if you stay or leave, or have an opinion about what
the list should or shouldn't be about - speak up, by all means, please :)

Traditionally we have spoken enough non-fish-specific crap on the list
that some of the big names in Sahulian fish biology have avoided the
list - but by the same token, some have joined us and stayed for just
the same reason.

The best way to keep discussion on fish is to start a thread on fish.

Best regards, Andrew
