You can breed them when they have the condition. It is not believed to
be passed on to the fry through the eggs. But still there is really
little hard proof for anything involving ulcers, TB, or Rainbowfish
disease. I was told and shown by a speaker on fish diseases that a
fish truly infected with TB will have small gray nodules in the liver.
I haven't had occasion to dissect one yet, but plan to should any fish
die of suspected TB. Some folks feel that all rainbows actually carry
it, but it will not show it self until the fish become stressed. Other
folks are sure that what causes ulcers is totally unrelated to TB in
many cases.
