Merry Xmas/Happy holidays from sunny Arizona, USA

Having just moved here from 6 years in a Winter Wonderland, I feel I
should
let you know Chris, Old Chap, that your lot isn't all that bad. There is,
IMHO, nothing more beautiful than a "real" Xmas in wintertime, snow just
makes it better. Xmas and snow go together, and were meant for each other.
It was begun in the snowy north of the world, ya know... :-) Having spent
many a Xmas in the tropics/subtropics myself, yes, a day at the beach is
great fun, but it just seems like any other day of the year. Ther's
something special about sitting by a warm fire, drinking mulled cider,
looking out at the beautifully transformed white landscape, and opening
your presents with the scent of pine or fir in the air. Ah! Lovely! :-)

On the other hand...
It's in the 70s F here, the skies are sunny and blue, and I can wear a
t-shirt today (again) and not be cold. No fighting w/ a cold engine,
scraping ice from the windscreen and freezing my unmentionables off while
I sholvel yet more snow out from under my tires. ;-) It will, once
again, be a beautiful weekend...

All the same, it just doesn't feel like Xmas. :-(

PS: Santa wears red and green surfer shorts and rides the waves, Dudes.
