I live near Raieigh North Carolina and today, I went to a local fish store.
The owner, who knows me, wanted to show me a new rainbow that he just go in and
asked if I could identify it for him. The tank label read "Neon Parkinsoni".
It was shaped like a parkinsoni and had the same fin structure, but its body
color and scales looked like a praecox. The fish was selling for $1.49.

I told the owner that it looked to me like someone had crossed a M. parkinsoni
and a M. praecox. In any event I am sure it was a cross. I told him that I
was against the cross breeding of rainbows and the reasons why, which I mainly
learned from this list. He told me that fish are a business and everyone wants
rainbows but aren't willing to pay $15 and up for them.

I know that most people that keep fish just want cool looking fish that are
easy to keep and are relatively inexpensive, but it is a shame that the
bloodlines these beautiful fish have to be desecrated to provide stock for
those who think water chemistry is a class at the local university.
