I agree whole-heartedly, Dr. Bruce (and I *dare* anyone to have a shot at me
over this message being off-topic ;) ) - I try to encourage others wherever
possible to maintain a "humane" approach to their fishkeeping. It is a moral
thing for me, but for the "hard-nosed", a very practical issue, as you have
raised above, is how others percieve us... A lot of animal keepers have drawn
fire (some of them quite rightly, others a bit far fetched) for the way they
keep their 'pets' - right or wrong, these people can cause otherwise legitimate
animal keepers a lot of bother, and while the "stuff-'em" bravado is very noble,
it may not save us in the long run...
