A few months ago i was asking if the Bridled goby, Arenigobus
bifrenatus/Amoya bifrenatus can happily live in freshwater. I caught mine
in seawater, 30ppt and transferred them to fresh and they are still alive.
I went trapping in the Swan River a few days ago, in the same spot that i
caught the gobies last time and caught another one. At this time of the
year the winter rain flushes the Swan and its almost entirely freshwater so
this goby was happily living in freshwater!

Ken Shaw (ANGFA WA President) has also been trapping in the Swan and has
been catching these other really beautiful gobies, Bigmouth Gobies
(Favonigobius suppositus). They seem to be very frail and if the oxygen
level isnt really high in water they start gasping and die very quickly even
when other natives seem to be doing fine. I havnt ever seen these gobies
before and am not sure of their distribution. Does anyone knwo anything
about them?
