I am starting to get things packed away now for my transfer. No problems
with the assistance, sorry I have been too busy that I couldn't get to an
auction and bring you down some fish...
Mops are hard to find here in Qld, the small number of breeders I know of
seem to prefer to raise the fry and on sell them to the wholesalers.
I will see what is at the auction on Friday night. I still have the list you
sent previously.
list of wanted fishes
m.s.tatei
m.fluviateania
m.pygmaea
c.rhombosomoides
p.mellis
n.glencoensis or the smallest catfish sp
do you have anything to add? As I am often one of the auctioneers I can
safely say that nobody knows what will be at the auction til it happens. The
only real exceptions to this are Peter Harris still has some of Bruce
Sambells fish (I don't know what he has).
Peter can be contacted at

I believe he is looking at moving to Norfolk Island. I am unsure of how
advanced this transfer is.
I am not sure how many suppliers? Dean has. He mainly collects his own fish
from the wild. He has spent a lot of time travelling around Queensland and
the NT and is very knowleadgeable as to what can be caught where...
I am sorry I can't help you more with members around the Gold Coast, but we
have so few of them come along to our meetings. I know I have mentioned a
Gold Coast aquarium society and I am sure that they have members that keep
Australian natives. I just don't have a contact for you. I will try to find
one.
Regards,
Barry Meiklejohn
